I'm Off To See The Wizard...

Or maybe I'm just off for an unplanned road trip to visit a friend in Wisconsin. When I'm driving by myself, I have picked up this bad habit of talking to myself. There are rules to my conversations with myself. I can't ever manage to "write out loud" and imagine stories I want to write, which would probably be the most productive use of my time.

I can, however, give myself imaginary lectures on diverse topics, I can give that really good comeback that I couldn't think of quickly enough earlier, I can answer imaginary interview topics, I can make small talk with myself.

But that only keeps me occupied for so long. Therefore, I am going to swing by the library today and see if they have any good books on CD to keep me from being that crazy lady who talks to herself. Any recommendations?

Oh but crazy lady who talks to herself is so much more fun (for you and for us)!

As for audiobook recommendations, I've been listening to Neverwhere read by Neil Gaiman and it has to be the most amazing audiobook I've listened to. Gaiman has the best reading voice and it's such a cool experience to hear an author read his own work. So that's my recommendation!

I don't have any recommendations, but I am glad to know I'm not the only crazy lady out there :)

I've just started Patterson's The Women'd Murder Club and that's pretty darn good. Of course if you've already seen the movies, it's not as thrilling.

Have fun this weekend and when you get back, email me your shipping information. You are one of the winners at J. Kaye's Book Blog Sunday Raffle. :)

I do that sometimes, Kim... so I don't think you're crazy at all. ;)

As for audiobook recommendations, I'm afraid I've nothing to share since I don't listen them. I prefer physical books! ;P

I suspect you're already gone, but The Stolen Child is a GREAT audio book. Give it a go sometime. And have fun!

chris-Yes I may be the crazy lady, but I can only talk to myself for so long.

I might have to pick that one up sometime! Next roadtrip.

alice teh-glad I'm not the only one:-)

debi-lets have a crazy lady club!!

J. Kaye-I have heard those are good, I do want to read them.

holicita-Yeah... what the hell was the secret? I think I know... IT WAS A STUPID BOOK!!

melody-usually I don't prefer audio books, but on a road trip they are just perfect for me. When I'm sitting at home, I have too much trouble paying attention.

andi-that sounds like a great choice!
