Was there any way I could pass up this challenge? The answer is a big resounding no! Carl V at Stainless Steel Droppings is hosting Once Upon a Time II Challenge. His Sci-Fi Experience is what drew me in to reading challenges, so could I really pass up the chance to read fantasy books, my other favorite genre.
You can read the rules here, and there are three different quests to take. I'll probably be taking Quest the First, reading 5 books that fit within the fantasy/folklore/fairy tale category.
I don't have my list finalized yet, but it's sure to at least include Seeing Redd or The Looking Glass Wars.
Update: Here's my list (so far)
Seeing Redd by Frank Beddor
The Looking Glass Wars by Frank Beddor
Fablehaven by Brandon Mull
Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier
The Goose Girl by Shannon Hale
Subject to change of course!

Welcome to the challenge! I'm looking forward to your list. :)
COme on sort out your list :p I hope you enjoy The Looking Glass Wars books as much as I did if you read them. I know the third book is ages away, but I can't wait!
I can't wait to read your reviews, Kim! Bring on the list... ;)
Carl always runs a good challenge. Glad you will join us!
About time you signed up, girl! :)
Good to see you're joining a new challenge! It seems like you are burning through the first ones you signed up for rather quickly. :-)
Thinking of what you said about the Firefly graphic novels and how you'd never read any, but would now, I dug this up for you: Graphic Novel Challenge.
I believe you already had Maus on one of your lists, and I can definitely recommend some good ones off the challenge's link of "award winning" novels. Watchmen, for example, landed on Time magazine's 2005 list of the 100 Greatest English Language Novels from 1923 to the present -- the only graphic novel on the list.
Just an idea and some food for thought. ;-)
yay, I'm glad you're joining too. I look forward to your reviews! I hope you enjoy your picks :)
andi-thanks, I'll be looking around for ideas, no doubt
rhinoa-I've been liking the Looking Glass wars pretty well so far, and I'm sure I'll start Seeing Redd soon afterwards.
melody-soon I hope!
stephanie-yes Carl's challenges are great. I'm looking forward to this one.
debi-I know. I kind of sat on it for a while to see if I had stamina for more challenges. But it turns out, I do!
aaron-you are right I need to sign up for that one. Graphic novels intimidate me a little, plus they don't have any at the library (where I've been getting all of my books except the free ones I've gotten). But I'll definitely take recommendations, if you would be so kind as to email me some.
nymeth-thanks in advance because I know I'll be looking to your list for ideas. :-)
I am so thrilled that you are joining in! Your list is a good one, can't wait to read your reviews.
