I've recently read both Ender's Game and Speaker for the Dead and am looking forward to continuing the Ender series when I finish my current book. The first two were both extremely good. They both utilized standard sci-fi conventions while at the same time totally turning them on their heads and doing the completely unexpected. Excellent reads.
